As early as August 1, this website will switch over to a new format. (Our old web-builder is no longer being serviced by the developer, so we are converting websites to a newer version that still receives support.) MORE INFORMATION

For more complete schedule information, please check the updated, sortable online calendar, which is always accessible from a link on the right sidebar of this page. You may also download the more complete 2010-11 Calendar, which is also available in Espaņol.

School supply lists, medical forms and other materials related to the coming school year are available on the Online Registration webpage.

If you have not yet registered for fall, you may not receive your class schedules, teacher assignment or bus routes. Beginning in July, students who did not complete online registration were dropped from the rolls at Aspen, Townline and the School of Dual Language to make room for students on waiting lists for those schools. If you did not properly complete your registration, you may be required to re-register your student through the longer in-person process. If you are unsure that your student is registered, please contact your school or the District Office as soon as possible.

Please note that school offices and the District Office are officially closed on Fridays during the summer.

Check Community Notes for Camps, Events and Opportunities

Hawthorn's Community Notes webpage offers announcements from our community partners. Check out the many camp opportunities, family-friendly events and charitable activities. Inclusion on this webpage does not mean that Hawthorn endorses any of these programs but rather is provided as a service to the Hawthorn community. Please visit the Community Notes webpage to learn more.

Sharpen Skills at Home

Hawthorn students have access to a number of online resources. MyAccess is an online writing resource available to students in grades 4 through 8. Students will find interesting writing prompts to which they can respond and then receive feedback. Custom Typing offers all Hawthorn students a keyboarding tutorial designed to help them learn and improve accuracy and speed. Lexile Book Finder helps parents locate reading options by interest, Lexile number and other criteria. Students log into the study websites with a username and password - the same username and password they use for other activities during the school year. If you need assistance in identifying your student's password, please check with your classroom teacher.

Grade-Level Curriculum Guides Available

Each fall, parents receive a grade-level curriculum guide outlining key learning goals for the year. Both these summaries as well as the complete Hawthorn Curriculum Guide are available online by visiting the District website's Learning@Hawthorn Curriculum Info pages.
